that was a few days ago now
heard it on the TV, apparently Jeremy Clarkson said "heaven got a set of stripes today"
great guy but he is why we have a 70mph speed limit LOL

First i knew of Carrol was when my dad sat me down to watch buillit...nothing sounds like Steve McQueen double changing in that Shelby.

Even worse, the 'high speed' sound track is reputed to have been a recording of Mark Donohue's Trans Am series Camaro Z28 (suitably spliced of course, at one point he performs at least 4 upshifts, a neat trick with a 4 speed box) so nothing does sound like that Mustang, unless it's got a Bow Tie under the bonnet Cool

In the early 60's, an AC Cobra coupe did 185mph on the M1. Shortly afterwards the 70mph speed limit was introduced, not as a direct result of the AC cobra but it probably contributed and the AC cobra certainly was blamed by a few people.
