Hi,

So passed my mod 2 last september and got myself an ER6F. Wasn't sure what bike to go for so it's a bit of a compromise at the moment. Love the looks of it and more than enough power for me at my level and is good fun, but I do love the 600 supersports.

Was curious how long people run with their first big bike if they have gone with similar machines as myself after passing their test?

My confidence is good with the bigger machine but thinking I might be getting a bit ahead of myself with wanting to go down the sports bike route, too much too soon??

Well i'm 18 so i'm under restriction, but i switched up my GS500 after a year. That was only because i wanted a bike that i would see a mild difference when derestricted, and the GS wouldn't really.

Like Ferret said, go check some out, sit on them and see what you think

if you have confidence and are comfortable at the moment then I can't see there being an issue getting a sportier bike, you'll just have to remember to be a bit cautious the first few rides out.

yeah have sat on a few, not had any test rides yet though.

Just have to justify it to the wife if I change the bike so soon!
