Everyone knows that your speed depends on how you look, so:

- New lid (+15 mph)
- New gloves (+ 10 mph)

Nah ok - what I wanted to say in this post is actually about Metropolis Motorcycles in Vauxhall .. I saw there are a fair few threads on here mentioning them .. some positive .. some negative, so wanted to share my experience.

I've ever only bought the above mentioned lid and gloves there mind you, but I have to say the service I got was excellent .. the sales guy was patient, made me try every lid several times - focused only on how well the lid fitted and once I had found one I was happy with he spent 20 minutes explaining how everything worked etc. etc. and then told me I could just go home and think about it. I didn't!
I think they have a policy of giving discounts in general to people spending on good quality stuff - at least I got a discount that brought the prices down to what I had found on mcn shop etc. and then he added some free stuff worth probably 10 - 15% of the entire deal - safe to say I will go back next time I need something .. especially because there was no sales pushing - I hate that.

have no idea how the bike service, bike sales etc. are - but the clothes and accessories department get a Thumbs Up from me.

Thumbs Up for the Alpinestars gloves. Mine are probably the best bit of kit I own Wink

I've also heard good things about Shoei lids, but unfortunately I don't have a Shoei shaped head Confused

So Snett was a mixed pleasure today with a wet drive up - got 4 dry sessions though and the track is really nice once you get the hang of it.

Unusuall few people there also meant plenty of room in the sessions which is always good, but fewer people to chat to in the pit lane.

Was luckly enough to get a bit of 'coaching' from Michael Neeves who was also there with the Beemer crew - really helpful - a top guy Thumbs Up

I absolutely love the new lid - perfect for track days I would say - and even in the rain the pinlock means you never need to open up for air to be able to see Thumbs Up

The gloves (I think as usual to be fair) will need a bit more riding to be really comfy, but they give great feel of what you are doing.

I've got the same gloves, still pretty uncomfortable where they haven't bedded in, got a load of 'protective' bits which do a really good job on digging into your hands and hurting you more than if they weren't there... hence I rarely wear them Laughing
