I've got a C reg GS125 with 16k on the clock and it runs like a dream. Both bikes are similar, easy to ride, maintain and running costs are minimal. The front brakes on both are poor, I'd rate mine as shocking but I'm going to replace the front drum lining with some softer ones I think.

I rode the CG125 on my test and it was similar, seemed a little quicker but maybe that was psychological with it being brand new and mine been 18 ish!

I don't think you can go wrong with either bike to be honest, you should have no problem selling them on either, once you upgarde after your test.

I did all my lessons and passed my test on a GS125. I actually quite liked it. Alot nicer than the SR125's the training centre had, they sucked in every respect.

Top speed on the one I rode was 65 at a push- downhill with the wind behind you Smile it got up to 50/55 easily then every mph after that was a struggle. So, as you can imagine the 0-60 isn't worth thinking about Smile

I've squeezed 65mph out of it but 0-60 is a no no. 0-30 seems pretty decent and will cope with pulling away from the front of the lights, unless someone races you! At the end of the day it is a commuter and it does it job. You can have some fun on it and if and when you drop it it will be at a minimum cost as they have thousands of spares and are so simple to keep in good nick.

It's much quicker, if you use the gears correctly. You can keep up with the majority of traffic plus it's a bike and you won't be counted as Ped Scum Very Happy

I bought mine for £400 and I love it. Yes it could do with 10-12 horses extra under my seat but that is why i am doing my full licence soon. You can still thrash it and it will take the abuse. As a stop gap to a "real" bike you can't go far wrong.
