I watched a volvo s40 plough into a lamp post on a central reservation at 50mph becasue he was on his phone. If it wasn't for that lampost he would have hit me. I was covered in glass and shrapnel and watched his head hit the windscreen.

I then did all the Dr Dup stuff then when he was calm and the first responder was sorting him I told him waht a stupid idiot he was etc.

I was coming back from Preston through this little town and it was a 30 zone, kids everywhere. Should ban people for having their phone switched on in the car wihtout it being hooked upto hands free.

I've banged on the roof of a few people on their phone. Shits them up well enough.

On my CBT 2 years ago my instructor was talking to me over the radio about the area we were in and people (mainly asian) hitting the brakes and trying to get a claim. That second someone does just that. It was on a steep hill in a residental area. Well the CG's drum brakes bounced into action and the instructor booted the rear light. took off his wing mirror and banged on the roof. It was really funny.

But don't go out against people on their phones unless they cut you up. Just report them to the police instead otherwise. Take the reg. Its fun doing that.

I have noticed that there are a lot more people using their phones in the last few months as they feel they are immune to the new law.

Usually drivers think it's 'safe' to use it while queueing in traffic. What they fail to recognise is that they don't drive their car in a straight line.

I had two instances on Friday coming home - one woman, in her BMW, in traffic, which started moving and moved across, just as I'm going past! She droppped the phone when I bashed on her window. The other was a Merc on a roundabout, again a woman, who was on the phonr and failed to stop, I ahd to take evasive action, narrowly missing a wall! I got up to the side of her and hit the horn & she 'dismissively' waved at me. With my old heart pumping at 200 beats a minute and 3 pints of adrenalin in my veins, I think she will miss her drivers wing mirror and hopefully remember to stop at roundabouts!

I think the police will file any report you make about a mobile phone user while driving in the bin!

Big and hard of you - must admit if you had done that to my car your number plate would have been taken and you would of then had a visit from the police and a nice bill arrive at you house.

I don't agree with the use of mobile's in cars, especially when in towns and areas where you have to use both hands to drive the car - roundabouts, gear changes etc etc etc.
Though I have been known to answer my phone while driving before now, so for me to say anything would be hypocritical.

So, let me get this right you rode up alongside the idiot on the mobile and then proceeded to have an altercation with him whilst travelling down a road which culminated in you attempting to rip his wing mirror off.

Not only am I dubious about your claims I would also add that if you were in fact carrying out what you profess you were probably putting yourself, the phone user and other people at a greater risk.

I don't want to be patronizing but you really need to develop a sense of maturity whilst riding on the road. If you don't you're not going to be accident free (if indeed you are) for very long.

Good point, well made Steve.

I've been known to answer my phone on the odd occasion. But I don't do it at all now. While driving I mean.

Found that being on the bike is te best thing for mobile phone use, as I have to stick it in my pocket and can't use the bloody thing while out on the road.

If people want to talk to you that bad, they'll call you back.
