This might be a stupid question.. .. actually it IS a stupid question since I just bought a Bagster tank cover on Ebay. But what is a tank cover actually for?

Hide a shit paint job/dent/protect tank (most come with tank bag mounts)

They are used to attach a tankbag. They also allow the bag to be tilted up when you refuel.

Bit overpriced but very durable.

I dunno, but that sounds like a great idea for a tank cover. Batman rubber black... Mmmmmmm.... tasty. Might also help in corners hooking your knee underneath it. Dibs on copyright.

Why did you buy one if you didn't know what it was for?

I wanted one when I had the SR to hide the dent in the tank, and the beemer came with one, but if I had used the tankbag on it I would have needed a booster seat to see over it Very Happy

I don't know, they just look cool and interesting I guess. I got it for £21.50 so it was nice and cheap (about £100 new).

It's been one of the thing's I have been looking at. For all the reason said before me. I have a few mark's on my tank, and I can see that in time I will only collect more. A cover could help. But why protect something that is out of sight?
