I bought it today, i managed to get insurance for £725 which is ok

Just out of curiosity, why did Aprilla put the drive on the right hand side of the swinger and the brake on the left?

Doesn't seem to make any sense to me!

Thought about the drive, don't suppose it is anything sensible like, because they go around roundabouts the other way, it suits better being on the other side?

I've heard it's so you can tell the difference between their 3 Types of RS. The RS50 has the exhaust on the right as well as the 250, same with the brakes.

I doubt that's got anything to do with it, considering the bikes are used in lots of different countries, some drive on the left, some drive on the right.

Right, the RS125 has the chain drive on the left hand side due to it uses a Rotax 122 (123 if its the older bikes) and that has the chain drive on the left. Converting it to the right would be more hastle than its worth.

Nice bike, is it de-restricted yet? See it has an unofficial sticker on the side (the aprilia sticker should be large and have a blurred / speed effect to it). What did you pay for the bike? Mileage? etc...

£725 is a bit harsh for TPFT, did you try CIA Insurance? Either way it isn't _too_ bad i pay £595.

Im going to phone around tomorrow, i rode it home yesterday, never ridden a geared bike in my life lol.
its well fast and its restricted.

i am 16(17 on sat) and do live in south london.but i will take ur advice and try cia
i think the last rider had a tumble an must of replaced it with a different one

No more or less reason that putting the chain on the left.

Suspect the real reason is because a lot of European companies put the kick start on the left (the idea being that you kick start the bike before getting on it), and it is easier to mount the kick start on the side of the engine which doesn't have the sprocket on it.

I'm with CIA, were the cheapest by £100 (I'm 23 by the way).

Try Rampdale who seem to be good for 125's and under.

Ouch thats expensive, i'm paying £315 TPFT for my Cagiva supercity which i expect is the same insurance group as the mito. I'm 17 with 1 year NCB and on my provisional.
