Hi guys

Well been offered a good price on my vfr vtec,so I will have up to £3k to play with!

I love the vfr,but I do find it a little sensible, dull and not very planted!
I have fitted a de cat manifold, pipes pciii decent rubber but finding the ride not focused enough!

Now I commute daily about 7 miles each way,so need reliability and decent build quality.( I will fix up my c90 as back up hopefully)

I'm 6ft 6 so thinking something quite large

At moment I'm thinking

Aprillia rev Mille r 2000ish year
Suzuki hayabusa 99ish
Honda fire blade 954

Any input on these or other ideas will be great fully received guys

My missus has the millie of a similar age, gets on very well with it. Hasn't exploded in a shower of Italian drama, either, although it does tend towards the loud. Seems to keep blowing a fuse, though, and randomly resets the clocks if you look at it funny. Worth replacing the battery and owning an optimate by all accounts.

It is a twin, though, which may (or may not) colour your opinion of it!

Don't see why you'd take the risk for a 7 mile commute! Sort the C90 out for the daily hack into town and get something fun as a toy, and don't worry too much about the stuff that a commute would inter.

not point squaring off expensive rubber and wasting pricey consumables on a very very short commute. The c90 will pay for a weekend toy in the savings on tyres, petrol etc. and itll mean you still have fun on the bigger bike.

You're asking for input, and my honest opinion that those three bikes are utterly ridiculous considerations for a daily commute, let alone a short 7 mile ride where theyll probably barely warm up properly. That won't be good for the bike or you. if you have a C90 then that is THE commuting tool, why look elsewhere!

There is no point getting a Mille to only have to worry about it starting in the morning, throw away money as the day to day slog makes its mark in depreciation, wear and tear and consumables, and to put serious wear on the engine. plus, after commuting on a bike every day you'll quickly find any bike boring, and that is a very bad place to be!

I see no reason whatsoever to use anything other than your C90 for work.

Cheers for input guys,
Once the c90 is up and running that's the plan to use that but also want a bike that's reliable etc etc
I used the c90. For a year and loved it.

But my other bike needs to be reliable enough to commute should the need arise!

The other bike will be used for Fun and commute in nice weather,I don't want a bike just sitting in garage I like to use my bikes!

Bikes is for riding, innit. Talking about depreciation on a 12 year old bike is ridiculous. Worst comes to worst you lose £500, and you'll always be able to shift a runner.
