It's only a prototype bike, I think I've found a design flaw though.

As you approached that corner you were quite close to the left hand side.

If you had been closer to the centre line the driver (if he bothered looking) would have seen you more clearly AND thought you were moving more quickly. This is because you would be changing position across his line of vision rather than just getting slightly bigger but staying in one place.

I'm not saying he looked, but every little thing helps.

Fair comment, although I'd just come around another sharp right-hand corner and went a bit wide on exit (also getting ready for that next bend)
He saw the car in front go and obviously thought "Oh, it must be ok for me too then"
I guess I'll take it a bit more careful around there now though!

I've read that before as it goes (keeping the bike moving across the road to increase visibility) makes sense.

Where you were positioned was good if it was just a plain bend, you can see further around it by being over to the kerb side as you were, but the side road sort of changes all that as you want to see as far as you can into that as well.

True, but moving out to the right (centre of your lane) when passing a live junction like that means you are more visible to the muppets.

Didn't hear a horn, shouting, swearing, didn't see wild gesticulating or finger waving? Very calm...

had a similar thing this morning but i was on a nice straight a-road and some silly mare gets to a junction from a side road, sits there for a second and then decides to pull out right in front of me.

muchos horn and arm waving was demonstrated. Shocked

luckily its a nice wide road so i could just swerve round her but still..

morons..
