I'm just a little worried about obligations created by selling a bike on ebay (in the USA by the way). Lets say I list the bike, but then I sell it locally- can I just cancel the auction, will the high bidder be able to go after me legally?

also, If I list it for 3 days, can I then extend the auction to 5 days if it doesn't get high enough?

Right, provided the auction dosent END you can end it early, you can cancel the bidders and the cancel the auction, so no problem really... make sure to say you reserve your right to end it early as its advertised elsewhere, also make clear the they are biding to buy not view, if they want to view do it before the end of the auction... tis about it really... Good luck with the auction Thumbs Up

edit: yes you can extend, but why not use a reserve? but then putting no reserve on the item description will/should get allot of interest...

You can cancel the auction at any time, i like to add "i reserve the right to end this auction at any time due to advertising elsewhere." then they have being forewarned.
