Hi Guys,

I'm new here as you probably know that's why I'm posting in the newbie section. I have had a search and read as much info as I can regarding both bikes.

I have found a 2010 version of the Hyosung 125 with 3000 miles on taxed and MOT'd for around 6-7 months.
I can get the bike and delivery for £1900. Do you think I should go get it?

I have to admit I really like the style of the Hyosung and the fat back tire.

The Yamaha XT125 I can pick one up on a 2008 plate for around the £1500 ish.
I like the more Moto-Cross luck of the Yam XT and it looks like it would handle off roading better than the Hyosung.
How ever I will be doing very minimal off roading.

I also know that on paper the Hyosung has more BHP by 4 and this would make the speed of the Hyosung faster than the Yam.

Now I know every body loves the Honda CBR125 and the Yam YBR 125 but I dont want a 125 thats dressed as a super bike (Honda CBR125) and doesnt perform like a super bike it's pointless. I dont really like the style of the Yam YBR either its to much of a cruiser looking bike, I want some thing a bit more moto-cross.

I have also been looking at the Derbi Cross City which looks nice.

I'm willing to spend around £2000.

I have not yet passed my CBT test but its going to be booked for the end of next month as the DVLA still have my car driving license.

Any and all help/feedback is appreciated.

Many thanks

Ant

Personally I would go for the xt, I had one and it was a great bike that never let me down and was fairly nippy for a 125. Best advice though is to go and see these bikes and sit on them to see if you find them comfortable Thumbs Up

with your budget i would also consider a Honda CBF, very nice bikes, quite modern and up to scratch Very Happy

otherwise id go for the Yamaha as its more of a "well known" name and tried and tested, whereas Hyosung is just beginning to pave a way

2K!!!
You have 2K and you want a Hyo or a XT!!! I hate to sound like a Broken Record.

Buy a Honda Varadero 125. Thumbs Up

It's the Ultimate 125 (Just my Opinion) but seriously, get a good un and 2K will definitely get you that and you can sell pretty much for what you paid. Then you got nigh on 2K to go towards a 'big' bike once tests are all done and dusted.

Really, with that sort of Money on a 2nd hand 125 you really will not regret it. It's a proper bike and will do a proper 70 mph and are reliable as a reliable thing.

Love em Very Happy

**EDIT**
BUT if you really want one of the 2 you mention then get the XT.

I had a Hyosung Rt125..I quite enjoyed it..HOWEVER...

Parts aren't easy to get hold of or cheap...better off with a more established Japanese brand Smile

Look at the Yamaha XT, by far a better bike mate.

Failing that, I have to recommend the Honda XR 125, especially if you like the looks of the the XT.

Thumbs Up

2011 YBR with low miles, buy it, do test, sell for same price quickly...get bigger bike.

None of the bikes mentioned here are super bikes...especially a CBF Laughing

Thanks for the replies guys.. Please forgive my lack of knowledge regarding the bikes..

I have now decided that I will not be getting the Hyosung, But some thing A bit more moto-cross like the DT125r or the XT125r

Would any body else suggest any other good moto-cross/Enduro bikes.

I fully agree with every one, I should get a more reliable well known bike from either Kawasaki/Suzuki/Yamaha/Honda as the parts are easier an more widely available and also the resale value will hold up better than the Hyosung..

Now to get hunting. Any one fancy helping??
Very Happy
