Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the late report on this but been dragging my feet on this one as the weekend was disastrous for me and couldn't of gone any worse and TBH my luck has just run out lately.

I got home the previous weekend from visiting my grandma in Texas as her health isn't the best these days so we visited and spent some quality family time together.
So 2 weeks of no exercise and bad american food, I certainly wasn't feeling my fittest coming into this round.
I had a week to prepare but didnt have much time to exercise when I got back as I was busy dealing with my house being burgled on the tuesday and my card details being stolen before I left for america so had to sort out all the letters in the post telling me to pay or else Shocked and go through all our house working out what was taken or damaged (fuckng bastards Evil or Very Mad).
I managed to patch up the crash damage on the bike from the last round with some carbon vinyl wrap and bike was certainly looking better than it did before and wasn't bad considering with the time and money I had to do it with.

Got up at 5am on the saturday to sew on my new sponsor patches onto the leathers then realising I sewed on one upside down after spending 2 hours doing it DOH!!

got to the track and nearly had a heart attack at scrutineering from suspect blown fork seals which really would of thrown a spanner to the whole meeting but we popped the dust seals and gave them a good wipe and all seemed OK, so must of been a build up from the last meeting as I didnt get a chance to give the bike a good clean.

I went out for the 1st qualifying for superstock and managed 3 laps before someone highsided in front of me, I was pretty sure the session was going to be red flagged as there was debri all over the track so came into the pits and parked up and found that it was still going, I tried to get back outthere and session was ended so found I qualified 10th with a lap into the 58s.

2nd qualifying session, I went out and found I was on my own for the whole session with knowone passing me and with me passing a number of riders it felt better but not terrific enough to feel like I was pushing and found I qualified 9th only, going .5 second faster Shocked Confused no good! Evil or Very Mad

Race 1 ss600:
I lined up to the grid using the old tyre from qualifying to try and preserve the new tyre. I made a clean start making some progress progress and got onto the front pack of riders which quickly split into 2 groups as fighting with a 1000cc blade is difficult to pass when they gain 30-40ft on every exit of the corner.
I managed to get up to 5th and tried to push to catch the leading group, I braked late into edwinas and ran wide and got stuck in 3rd on the exit which got me completely swamped by the 1000cc rider, I gave chase, to loose another place at the hairpin from loss of momentum and I nearly highsided at the bustop loosing another position as the tyre was really letting go now. I quickly got back on the gas to go in between 2 riders as one went really wide, he cut back in running over my front wheel which made me stand up heading towards the gravel, I got the bike back on track but I lost about 4 seconds in the process with 2 laps catch them up and ended up 9th place Thumbs Down Thumbs Down

Race 2 F600,
I put a new rear in for this race as the pirelli rear went in the bin, not even worth selling! I made another good ish start, making some places and got into 4th with the front group about 2 seconds in front of me. the first initial 4 laps I felt like I was making ground on the braking areas and but stupid mistakes from lack getting into rythm, being choppy were making loose everything I was making up, it ended up being a lonely race trying to set my own pace with no real reference to how I was doing, on the penultimate lap I was passed into the hairpin from braking too early. I gave chase and passed going into edwina, and lost it on the exit (in 3rd again)
I tried setting up a pass for devils elbow and opened the throttle to find the rear to start slipping through lack of grip, it slid, slid slid slid and slid basically until I was on my arse and the softest landing I've ever had. So what a nightmare, I lost a chunk of points on the last corner of the race, how bad can my luck get Sad

Race 3 ss600,
We got the bike sorted and ready with some new gbmoto rearsets which was provided to me from my new sponsor www.carbon-networks.co.uk I went out for the race realising that the footpeg was too high, I tried to make do in the race but the bike kept jumping out of gear down the straights(fucksake) Evil or Very Mad I had to pull as people were nearly running into the back of me so another DNF

Race 4 F600,
we sorted out the rearset positioning, tested it and seemed to be good. I went out and had to start at the back of the grid.
I made my way up to 5th and started battling with 2 riders and tried to push on and get closer to the front, everyone time I went to push either the front or rear started to slide which wasnt helping with my confidence at all so found it hard to progress from and loosing places in gerrards from lack of corner speed, I caught up with Gary Winfield 2 laps from the end of the race and made a pass into edwinas and led him all the way too hairpin until he passed me tried to make another pass at devils but trying to pass a British Supersport Tag Triumph on a straight just wasnt going to happen I crossed the line in 7th and just wanted to go home and glad the day was over!

So overall probably the worst meeting I've ever had but bad luck is a part of racing and happens to everyone.
There are 3 rounds left with round 6 being double points so 105 available in each class, anything can happen as we all know this is racing after all.

So for next round I'm going to get at least some track time as once a month is just not enough as I felt all day I was just remembering how to ride a bike all over again and I'm going to put the bike on the dyno and see what its doing to make sure I'm not down on power and get my leathers repaired as they have a massive gaping holes on both side of the legs. Thumbs Down

Wanna give a massive shoutout to Carbon-networks, LJ Motorcycles for always getting me on the grid, Jamie turney, Graham Arnold, David Manley and Tony.
If it werent for these guys I wouldnt of even been there so can't thank them enough!

Good write up. It's all in the prep, both the bike and you. It takes a certain type of singlemindedness to win races never mind a championship, I used to be in the garage at least 3 nights a week so it must have been hard to get your head into for this meeting.

Can't change the past, used to make me mad for it at the next meeting, good luck for the next one.
