Trying to contact a celebrity.

How would I go about doing this?

Following on from my other thread about having an idea for a possible movie, I have been trying to get in contact with a [not very famous] film director to ask them some questions...

Basically all I want is some guidance from them, if they tell me that my idea is shit and not to persue it then fine, but maybe it could start the ball rolling if he has some friends in the industry or whatever.

I have been onto imdb and did numerous online searches but I cannot get any contact details for him, or his agent or anyone else for that matter.

He does however have a Twitter account (no FB), but I dont have a Twitter account and cannot be arsed setting one up. If I did set up a Twitter account, would it be possible to send him a private message on it or email him via Twitter?

Any other ideas on how to get in contact with him?

P.S - I am a bit weary about this because there are so many people out there who impersonate celebrities (although this guy is not that famous) but I want to make sure I get the correct person.

Any guidance much appreciated.

1) you would probably be ignored as it's a safe bet that he gets a fair few aspiring screen writers trying to get attention.

Find some decent amateur actors who are just as keen to get their name out there as you are to do your project. Locate people doing film degrees and explain to them that you'd like them to help do it and they can put it on their CV etc.

Give everyone a share of any profits, and agree that before, say 5% per actor and crew depending on how many there are. That'll make it worth their while.

If it's someone very minor, sure it can't be too hard to find out details.
You could always try either rocking up there and waiting 'till they're done then approaching them, or calling appropriate people and seeing if you could arrange ten minutes of their time. If they're not used to it, they might actually like the idea.

However, if you want useful advice, why not go to a college that has an appropriate department - or at least talk to students at said college.

Don't do it. If your idea is crap, it won't happen. If it is good, they could easily say they don't like it, and then create a film which is very similar but just different enough for you to not be able to sue.

I know it sounds cynical, but this is what happens apparently.

If you are into contacting celebreties, you'll alway make more of an impact by making your sentences by cutting out individual letters from a newspaper. Try alternating between upper and lowerc ase mid-sentence, or even mid-word for greater visual stimulation.

with regards to the lady pics, (i clicked. . .why did i click! ) is it just me or are the ones with small bits of clothing on more attractive than the blatantly porno ones??? The one of her arse and suchlike stuck right in the camera with nothing on at all just looks like she's waiting for a vet.

To the op, Peperami's idea about the trade mag sounds good. It'll probably have agents listed who may do the approaching for you.
