My MOT was due to run out in just over a months time so I went and got it done thinking it'll give me more of a chance to put things right if something major needs doing. A couple of brake disks later and zip ties around the clocks and it passed only to be handed a MOT certificate telling me it runs out in a year.
I thought they could add on up to a maximum of 30 days, and if it was over this then 30 days it would be...but they told me as it's over a month till my current one runs out they can't add on anything.

Anyone know anything about this? Seems odd to me that they couldn't add on the maximum of 30 days so I've now wasted a month. Evil or Very Mad

Cheers,
Adam

Don't know but seems strange that if you have 30 days remaining they could add 30 days, but if you have 40 days they can't add tge 30 days still...

If its 1 calender month exactly of less they can add the extra time but if its over a month they are not allowed to add the extra time.

That's a very strange rule. If I'd have known that before the re-test I could have done it early next week and had the 30 days.

Ah well, we live and learn!

Cheers for the info Kev.
