Might sound like a stupid question. Just wondered if everyone just has it attached to all their keys (house, car etc) or seperately on its own.
My bikes key inserts in the side of the bike near the engine, and im always worried other keys might come off and i wouldnt notice.
Ive seen a youtube video of someone who had his key attached to the bike on a long spring kind of thing, what do you do?

Mine is in the middle of the bike, at the front, near the clocks. Has my door key, alarm fob, chain key, disc lock keys and a cable lock key attached to it. I tend to have two rings between keys in case one snaps and use the thicker more robust key-rings to be safe.

On one key ring I have,

Ignition Key
Petrol cap and seat key
2 disc lock keys

I had them on the same key ring for a short while but it was too bulky.

Other keys would never fall off unless the ring itself is broken and loose.

Same here, I scratched up the clocks on my old bike because I had other keys attached. I like the feeling of just having one key, makes it easier to turn with gloves on too.

i have the bike key, disc lock key and chain lock key on the bike keyring. House keys on a separate ring in my bag. Having the bike lock keys on the ignition thing in front of me would i imagine (having of course never actually done it myself Whistle ) stop a numpty who hasn't had enough coffee from waking all their neighbours up at stupid o'clock when they leave for work cos they've tried to ride off with the alarmed disc lock still on Embarassed

I keep mine separate from the rest of my keys; I nearly broke my car key when it slipped between the tank and handlebars of my FZS Fazer (when I was parking it up)and I've only got the one. I don't fancy shelling out £££ for a new car key.

Bike key on own.

House key/back door key/lock keys/key fob all put in zip up pocket of textiles on a single ring.

Bike key on its own on a freebe single keyring, the plastic loop type ones that garges give away.

If I need to take a house key with me I put that in my pocket, if the mrs is home I don't even take one! Thumbs Up

Bike one has my two bike keys, disk lock key and my fob.

I have another one with my house keys on it and another one still with my work keys on it.

All with wemoto straps...it's just how I roll. Cool

I've got a small (CR123 battery) torch with a lobster claw spring loaded clip on the end. House/garage keys on one ring, bike locks/topbox on another, just bike ignition on another, car keys on another. Then they go onto the clip, mix and match as required. Oh, and there's a small clip on the bike locks ring so I can clip the igniton key to it and keep them together in the drawer when not using them.

Bike key with only a Tesco fob so that it doesn't scratch the yoke.
Garage and bike lock keys on a separate ring.
House keys on another separate ring.
...and a bike shaped bottle opener on another ring

Then I clip them together with a carabiner, and keep the unused keys etc in my jacket pocket.

It all sounds very cumbersome, but it's worked well for me for a number of years

I try to keep my bunch as small as possible, but it’s still made up of multiple keys for house, garage, bike locks, Givi boxes and a small LED torch. My bike keys attach to the main ring using a spindly little ring where they’re quick and easy to detach.

I always use just the bike key on its own in the ignition. It’s a bit closing the stable door after the horse has bolted because all my headstocks have been scratched by previous owner’s keys.

While riding I tend to keep the rest of the keys in my jacket pocket. This has the interesting effect of wearing out my pockets every few years and will probably give me broken ribs and minor stab wounds should I ever fall off. It’s convenient though. Wink

I'm a sad git, I have a neck strap thingy (with Suzuki Owners Club written on it lol) round my neck with the alarm fob attached and then just the key in the bike, then I click the bike key to it when I've finished. House keys are in my pocket as it has car key, house key, USB flash drive, work alarm fob, work key, bike lock key, shed key etc etc lol

This +1, but mine's got my alarm fob and a Silkolene loop keyring too. Goes on a lanyard round my neck when I get off.

Rest of my keys are on a karabiner for fast hook up when I'm moving the bike and locking the garage etc, and live either in my rucksack when I'm commuting or just in a trouser pocket when I've not got the rucksack on.

I used to have them all on one bunch on the karabiner on the lanyard, but it got too big and I became in danger of being impaled, so I split them and it works better. I've even whittled the amount of keys down too, I now have several different bunches for different stuff now, save them all being on the same bunch.

It's a complex issue. I hate my OCD.

My bike ignition and lock key on a single ring is attached to the main bunch by a dog lead type thing so it stays with my keys in my bike pocket when off the bike but comes off for actual bike use.

Ignition & petrol tank on one, locks & house key on another. Too much weight on can apparently damage the ignition (especially if you have one of those side facing ones) or so I was told, so played it safe.
