Race Day ... Help me plan it??

Right so im thinking of setting up a race day somewhere in the southwest UK ...

Me personally I'd like to do it as a 33bhp max power race day, dont matter what bike you got as long as its no more than 33bhp.

Everyone is welcome of corse and all the proper bikes but just a race between the 33bhp's ... drinks & stay over maybe?

Thinking date wise, around the middle or end of june?

Give me your opinoins, just want to hear what people think & whether its worth setting up or not?

Have you got any experience of setting up something like this?

Do you want 'real' racing?

If you're happy with a quarter mile, it's quite easy; call up santa pod or another drag strip and say "how much to rent your drag strip, when have you got available".

But if you want the chance of the manly sort of racing (with corners an' stuff) you're in to a whole load of liability issues and more.

Need to consider trained marshals, indemnity insurance, other officials, Ambulance cover.

What regulations are you going to have bar '33hp'? Will you be affiliated with the ACU or a similar organisation?
How competitive will it be? Will you stop the current BSB 125cc champion entering as it's their off week?

Masses more things for you to consider.

To be honest, once upon a time I would have been up for this, I've grown up now though and tend to ride for the fun of it, I don't really see the appeal in racing, especially on the road which I think is what you are suggesting.

In the past I've found there is far more fun to be had racing the local tuned cars, but then I live in Essex, land of the suped up shit box. Had many cars surprise me in the past! clicky

Lol ... Now you've listed all that F*** the liability & responsibility all on me for that! haha

Maybe just a simple drag if people fancy it... or a simple bike meet somewhere??
Just to meet new people and enjoy each others bikes with a few drinks etc.

I'd like to get in to biking seriously & meet a few of the guys on here that go to bike meets etc.

It was just a thought thats all .... :/
