I was wondering if you guys knew this:

Do I have to pay a fee if I aquire a vehicle (motorcycle specifically) from somebody but there is no V5C present to get a V5C?

I am getting two old motorbikes (one will be scrapped straight away, the other restored)

Thanks for the help in advance

i believe you can get away with it, just send a letter to the DVLA stating that you 'still' haven't recieved the log book after you bought the bike, so the seller probably hasn't done their bit and sent the V5C off to them.

i did this aaaages ago for a mini, and they sent me a new one out. not sure if the same rules apply though. i think they get in contact with the seller to ensure that they have actually sold it to you.

i could be wrong here though.

If you have the green slip from the log book then you don't have to pay. But if you don't have the green slip then you have to pay.
