Hey!
So this is my little project that I had during my summer break from Uni...Im on the final bits now and amd on German soil now after 16000 km and 21 flat tires! This little incredible machine have made it here without a single mechanical failure..Same brakepads, same chain same sprockets...Amazing! Still though I have another 4000 kms of Europe to cover..Lets see if I can hold my GBP 1000 budget as well that i had for this journey!!
Please checkout my website on www.goingnotts.com and read some of the stories along the road...And if you feel like donating something to the charity im doing this for, there is a link at the end of the most recent post!

I am amazed that the engine doesn't struggle to carry your massive balls.
Sounds like one hell of a trip man! ____________________ 09' Versys 650 | 07' FJR1300A |

I have now arrived to the UK, safe and sound! What a trip this has been and certainly memories for life. The last leg was since Germany was probably the most horrible one but had some surprises hidden.
The Dutch police for instance thought it would be appropriate to sponsor me by mending my split exhaust pipe and giving me a pair of leathergloves! Check out the final post of the blog to read more about the last days!

However don't think my little projects end with this one. Next one next year will be a bit crazier and a bit longer.....The distance world record on 50cc. Thats 40 000 miles (or 61 000 km) on the back of a Vespa ...More information coming up
Thanks everybody for following and your strangely motivating comments

You legend! I've always wanted to do something like this. And you managed it on a £1000 budget??!
I'm going to start saving up to do a crazy trip like this next summer when I finish university. I tried this summer but got mugged by my teammate
Mind if I ask a few questions?
- How did you sort out vehicle insurance?
- What did you do about visas for countries you passed through?
- Is it simple to buy a bike out in Malaysia? ____________________ I'm autistic. That means I'm smarter than you. |

Totally amazing. I'm intending to do a similar journey, but instead of going through the middle-east, I want to go over the top, through Russia, Mongolia, China, etc. It won't be for a few years yet, but it's gonna happen.
Also, I clicked a random date on the blog and I ended up reading about the troubles of crossing from Pakistan into Iran. Quite amazing, being given police escorts for several hundred kilometres!
However.
"No questions asked about any permits and papers, just my name and passport. "Ahmed? You are musliman" I just nodded and the police officer that first hesitated just burst of joy and hugged me! He told me that he would arrange another escort for me all the way to Iran!! Wow! Thats just something, isnt it?"
I honestly hate all religions just the same, but one particular gripe of mine with Islam is that a lot of the arabic/middle-eastern places treat people with exclusivity just because of them being a fellow Muslim. Rather divisive, methinks! |
