 |
|
Hey guys.
I recently passed my Mod 2 test and I am now riding on a 33bhp restricted A2 license, and as a result, I am now taking pillions. (which is brilliant! For a 125, the CBF pulls like a train )
I was wondering if you guys can recommend a fairly decent quality Rider-to-pillion 2-way comms system? I want to be able to talk to my pillion no matter what speed I am going. I'm not too fussed about if I can connect it to my phone or MP3, just want to be able to chat!
Also, anything I should be weary of? I don't know much about bike comms so feel free to chuck in some info That'd be appriciated!
Thanks guys! ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |

Idk, i personally just use the iFail headphones/mike tucked up in the helmet. When am i ever going to use 2,000 minuites? Can afford to waste 60 of em chatting bollocks to the other half on the hospital jobs. Bite the volume/mike thingy to answer.
Couldnt you just opt for a simmilar setup? Cheapo walkie instead of phone if you/your passenger hasnt got minuites to burn?? ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

Lidl used to sell them when doing bike stuff (also Aldi). Why would you want screaming/moaning in your ear when riding, totally overrated ____________________ Fallen Angel "Nae sniffing my seat now!!!!! "

Sorry, not being helpful here.
Why would you want to talk to your pillion? One of the bonuses of being on a bike is you don't have to talk to anyone, rider comms just ruin that!
Just mu opinion anyway |

I want to be able to talk to my pillion because I like having a chat whilst riding Nothing wrong with that is there? If I want to get away from people then I wont take anyone pillion Haha.
And I was looking at the Scala Rider systems but I don't know how they work or how to set them up - Any ideas? They're quite expensive but you get what you pay for, I presume.
Cheers guys. ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |

Just passed your test?
Concentrate on your riding and don't worry your head about conversing with a pillion.
There is faaaaar too much more vital info you need from paying attention to the road than some edjit's Jiba-Jaba in you lugs.
Don't fit comms till you have crashed your bike then you can re-visit the idea.

I've got the bottom of the range scala and I have nothing but praise for it, got it as a present, but I would have been happy to spend the money myself knowing how good it's been ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

I've been after one of these for a while, me and the Misses have got an old cheap one, but it needs replacing, it's an arse to setup and use, and if you get on/off the bike pissing about with wires becomes a pain.
With the Scala, does the A2DP work independently - i.e. she could listen to her music, I listen to mine and when we speak it automatically lowers the music volume?
Or is it a case of music mixed with speech but speech is higher, or is this not possible?
Also, is it only the G4 that does this or does the Q2 do it as well? Is it easy to fit on the side of the lid and does it seem happy and secure? ____________________ Current Bikes: Honda CBR 600RR - '07, Suzuki GSX1250 FA ST '11

Cool that sounds pretty good (security wise).
For the music, have you ever had music - even shared to both users or just had chat between you and a pillion/another bike?
