My bike just farted.

And is also running like shit.

Took it out for a lengthy run yesterday and just as I stopped for a bite to eat it started to idle roughly.

Revs were going down to around 1K. It was a very warm day so everything would have been warm.

On leaving again after a 5 min stop, the bike started to cough and splutter and the exhaust banged and as it did this I got a burst of power.

Rode it home and put it in the garage but it doesn't feel right.

On the way home I stopped at a set of traffic lights and it stalled as I tried to pull away.

Also think it is lacking in power when you try and rev it however still had plenty power to get me home -so maybe this is just psycological.

Tried to start it again this morning and the revs were still sitting at around 1.5K after it had het up.

So turned the idle control screw.

Would it being so warm as it was yesterday make it idle lower than usual if the engine was overheating?

Checked all fluids and everything is fine as well.

100,000 + K miles.

P.S. - I also just carried out a service recently and in the owners manual it gives different oil viscosities depending on the outside temp - will this have anything to do with it?

fuel starvation, it runs lean and pops and bang.

Check tank for vent blockage
