lack of power 98 thundercat

98 Yamaha thundercat Goes okay in first gear but once you engage the higher gears goes like nothing..... feels like a lack of petrol. full tank of petrol atm..... i nearly ran out the other night n was fine after. sat in over night n began to work at the front left indicator as the lead had somehow disconnected jumped back on bike n the problem began. becomes a tad jumpy in second n real lack of power in higher gears. any thoughts???

Is it your first bike after a 125 (or car?) if so you need to rag it harder. They're pretty gutless till about 7k 12k redline is there for a reason

Lol First bike yes but i have had it year n the chap that had it before was a butcher with it n didn't look after it...... i am always flat out on it.this posted twice for some reason n everyone was saying clean the carbs so giving that a go. keep er lit
