Hi guys,

I have a Lexmoto vixen 125 (hn125-8) Chinese of course, its less then 11 months old (from data of reg) and this is whats wrong with it has 8200(ish) km on the clock props a total of around 8500km...

Whats wrong with my bike:

Electrical:
All lights apart from indicates have blow at least once a month.
Fuses have blown twice
Horn has blown the fuse and horn no longer works.
Speed-o light and left indicator light out on dash.
Doesn't start when in natural without clutch being held in (did when new)
Mechanical:
Exhaust bolts on right hand side fall-out and thread keeps stripping (every 6-8 weeks since brought) (before accident)
Speed-o cable no longer attached, snapped off during riding on break caliber
Rev-counter stick (shows the revs) snapped during riding
front sprocket cover: Top bolt, Bolt snapped
Bottom bolt. Thread stripped
chain adjusters: Right hand adjuster stripped, replaced (with unbranded) stripped again.
Left hand adjuster stripped
Rear sprocket, bolts and brushes snapped off, sprocket was hanging off
Has low power when moving in a flat straight road, struggles to 30 barely reaches 40.
Get no where near 100-125 mpg realistically 30-60 (was a told it would easily when brought) (tested on a trip to Bath and Basingstoke)
Jumps out of gear often (even when I over exaggerate the actions!)
Tires:
Rear tire slow leak (since new) replaced valve (still leaking) (have to put air in to it every 2-3 days, front tire 3-4 weeks)
Visual:
Right hand side rear foot rest, feel off when bike was parked.
“Vixen” faring snapped where screw go in.
Left hand side front foot rest, rubber fell off.
Dash display (speed-o, rev-counter, dash lights) loose, been replaced twice before, (rubber washer breaks apart)
Screw that holds head light front on fallen out while riding
Rust spots, on forks, exhaust, front break disk, handle bars, luggage rack, chain cover (ridden in all weather, under a cover at night)
Front mudguard replaced bolts holding it on to the forks.

Its been services at the place of purchased for the 500km and 1000km service and at another garage for the 3000km and 5000km service

Do i have grounds for the "Fit for purpose" act to get a replacement bike?

many thanks,

Beefamus

Sweet Jesus H Christ...my Chink isn't as bad as that! I'd complain to the dealer first, I'd seriously consider asking for a refund!

On the head? Add spring washers, or replace with new 6mm stainless steel studding.

MTFU?

Eh, I dunno, you got one made at the end of a 16 hour slave labour shift?

Straight up, I suspect that they may have got worse since my 2009 model.

Did I mention that I swapped it for a GPZ 500? Whistle

Yes it's chinese, but I suspect a lot of these could be fixed for very little. If I had any interest in buying a 125 I would possibly buy one for peanuts and fix it for peanuts.

I understand all of that! completely agree with what needs to be done... but i feel as though i shouldn't have to...

re-earth an 11 month old bike
re-re-replace the spring-washer and bolt i've many-a-time put in to the head
why should the carb need to be sorted out on again an 11 month old bike
and yes i did moan about the cosmetics like a girl, because i brought the bike because i thought it looked good... whats the point in having a bike that doesn't look good?

again i'm sure you'll comment that im moaning like a girl, which i do agree with but at the end of the day its 11 months old... an 11 year old bike i'd expect these problems... not 11 months

regards,

Keep bothering the deal until they sort it then, sounds like you've not got long left on the warranty.

Okay so its been in the shop for 2-3 days.

they looked at it and quoted me £582 to get it back up and running...

OR

£400 Part Ex.

i'm thinking part ex. i wont get £400 for that thing if its in 100% working order.

your thoughts?

I would seriously consider contacting Citizens Advice to see if you can get a full refund.

That list is utterly ridiculous for a 11 month year old bike.

did you buy it from learner legal by any chance?

at the end of the day, after only 11 months with regular qualified services the bike should NOT be falling apart that easily.

tell them you want it exchanged or refunded at FULL COST. if you have to have a solicitor send them a notification of legal action letter to scare the crap outta them.

you do NOT accept a part ex or rebuild on an 11 month old bike if it has that many issues.
