Hello,

My GPZ500 is due for its MOT quite soon. The bike did have an oil leak which is finally being sorted but I noticed the brake light swtich doesn't always come on when using the hand brake. The connection wires are a bit hit and miss and so i've cable tied them to add extra pressure...which does seem to work okay.

If i put the bike in for its MOT with the cable tie setup, would it fail?

I will of course buy a new switch but purely based on the here and now, what do you think?

Thanks.

I think it will be fine. Switch works, wires are mechanically secured.

Thumbs Up

As above, if it works and they're secure then that's a pass.

J4ames and stonesie beat me to it...

As long as the wires are secure, not snagging on anything, and the relevant parts work as expected when tested, then its Thumbs Up
