I took the Street and Speed out for a ride on sunday, both set up with full systems. Bugger me, what pukka little things they are. The Speed sounded like a quad 20mm on the over-run. Laughing I prefered the Speed though I wouldn't sniff at owning either of them. Awesome power, brakes and handling. And the sound...phoar! Thumbs Up

I like the Speed, but the Street just edges it for me with the lack of weight. The Speed is just a smidgin too heavy for my liking.

I've got a full Arrow system for mine, I'm going to fit it over the long weekend. I can't wait! Very Happy

With my weight (16 stone) the Speed's weight was not an issue. The Street felt a little too light for my taste. Pure hooners though, the pair of them.

You're going to love that system. Thumbs Up

The Street's a cracking bike, never tried the Speed but I do like the look of the R.

Yeah. It suits my size, the Triples are a bit short and tend to make me look a tad gonky. Laughing

test rode the speed last year.. great fun!

good power, not as wheelie happy as people make out although i've always been pretty smooth on the throttle. did feel like it wanted to come up easy though. nice noise.. similar engine personality as a honda i thought.. but mainly.. the brakes, they were epic. gotta love brembos!

only negative, but the same with all naked.. 80+ you suddenly become painfully aware you have no wind protection.

possibly the only reason i wouldnt normally choose a naked. dont know how much help screen and that are on them though.

I'm deliberately avoiding riding a street triple.

s'why I chose a Sprint ST. The engine just makes the bike somehow. Still, even after 6 months and all the miles I've done on it, can't help belting the throttle open and listening to it burble its way back down the revs Laughing The Sprint, otherwise the engine, is actually fairly grown up and sensible and not very hooligan'ish at all, which makes it nice and practical but still with a bit of character.

If I could have 2 bikes, I'd have a Speed and probably sell the Sprint and get something practical to replace it with, then have the triple engine'd hooligan for knocking around on.

Not loads... the Street is really really light though.

Off topic: Low boy or the normal high levels? Hopefully should be picking up some TOR's for mine this weekend (I'm too poor for anything else Laughing)

After riding big heavy brutes of bikes, Busa, ZZR1100, Wing, coming to the street felt like I could pick it up and carry it around instead of parking it. Laughing

It is absolutly amazing what liberties you can get away with because it is so light. I rode both th street & speed before I chose the street and I enjoyed both bikes, but the street was something completely different to anything I had ridden for years and even though the engine is relatively small it still has enough grunt for playing the idiot on!

I need another bike for touring though, something with a fairing and built in luggage. As much as I love the street, it isn't a good bike for long booring motorway rides.

I found the engine on the speed triple dissapointing, I was all for buying one but after a couple of testrides I went for the CB1000r.

I rode one with a full arrow pipe set up, I was expecting some proper grunt, but it was lacking in that, i then took a standard one out and it was no better! Also the harsness of the triple was not my cup of tea. I guess im just used to super smooth blade engines and the low down grunt from the CB is far better than the trumpet!

Low boy bought off of lilredmachine on this forum. Its not mint but it was a helluva lot cheaper than from Triumph. Bought some new exhaust gaskets today, and have the software to remap the ECU too.

I've got the lowboy, sounds great.

I'm surprised the Speed Triple has less low-down push than a CB1000, is that reflected in the torque figures?
