Hi

Which oil to use is a "how long is a piece of string" question. I often use car oil to be honest in bikes used for commuting and the like. However for a bike that is being pushed hard then just go for a half decent semi synthetic bike oil.

Change the oil filter as well.

Check the air filter and maybe clean that.

Maybe remove and clean the filter going to the carb heaters.

Check valve clearances

Balance carbs.

Check all the bearings (ie, wheel bearings, steering head bearings, swinging arm bearings).

Do these, or at least some of them. Carbs rarely go out of balance unless you have done work to the engine. Valve clearances tend to be fine for quite a while. Basically do all these on a full service, but a few less on a normal service.

All the best

Keith
