Hi , completely new to the forum so please forgive my obvious newness

I have just acquired an S reg katana ay50 liquid cooled moped and i aint got a clue as its my first moped

i have one or two problems and would really appreciate some help/advice please

1. if i fit the air filter there is zero power available (have been told this could be due to the sports exhaust as if i remove the air filter casing completely the power is there and the bike will hit 45mph)

2. I have read there should be a reed valve in the inlet manifold (no sign of one on my engine)

3.the bike has done 9000 miles and i was wondering if the piston rings could have been a part of the problem i have

sorry for such a large 1st post but i am banging my head against a wall and its starting to hurt lol
