Hi All

Any of you actually been over there for a dabble? (I've found multiple subjects on search but mostly just queries on it, and one including a mental git on a gixxer thou).

A friend's just been over in his car and it got me thinking it could be a worth while long weekend away.

Any experiences?

Go!!! You will love it.

Stopped off there in 2010.

It is a bucket-list-must for anyone who loves bikes and/or cars.

Its a must do once in your life.

A pretty cool place to go even if you dont ride the track.

Although in the last 5 or so years its become pretty dam commercial.

Take a credit card (just incase), read up on track etiquette and enjoy. It's. A great experience imo.

A friend takes regular trips there.
As spectacular as it is, he did say to be careful on a bike because of the classic cagers who thrash round too.
I'm not sure if they have seperate sessions though, which would be better.
I'd love to go there, would wait until the day I get my 'blade though before I do Cool

Make sure that you check your insurance too.

Mine categorically states that I'm not allowed on to the Nurburgring and that I will not be covered if I do. I don't know if they can legally enforce that or not, but I'd still be slightly hesitant about it. I'd probably still do it though.

Going in September.
Jim (Dam_buster), has been a few times now. Group of us are going in September, 3 cars (all BMW 328i's), and 2 bikes (My R1 and a GSXR750 I think).
Thinking about borrowing a van for the weekend to take the bikes over in. Not only to save the ball-ache of riding there, but incase the worst does happen.

Graham88 goes a lot too. It does seem very commercial, but really looking forward to doing it.
Will probably just jump in the cars to do some laps over the weekend, then Sunday afternoon, take the bike out for a few laps, when its quieter, and a lot of the fast regulars have gone home as they all work Monday.

I'm sure he bought my ZXR4 off me a few years ago.

He may have done.
Whatever he bought, it was a fucking lemon. Head gasket had gone.

What it means is that you won't be covered whilst on it - the bill for the armco and the 8 car pile up in your wake is entirely on you. They won't cancel your insurance just because you've been on it and walked away unscathed.

Yeah, I figured that much. The part I was mostly wondering is what would happen alongside the bill, i.e. getting done for driving with no insurance as it's a road circuit?

Though, with an 8 car pileup, that would be the least of my worries Laughing

We never got to actually ride on the ring, but the people we spoke to that we met there claim the surrounding roads are just as good, if not better. look up 258 to nurburg. Best road I've ever ridden, as well as the surrounding 50km or so of the ring. It's a bitch to find, but leads straight to the nurburgring.

Imagine 90km of this
