I have often read that the average mileage for bikes up to 125 cc is 3000 miles per year, and 4000 for larger bikes. I have only been riding for just over a year but I reckon I will be doing about 4000.

I was just wondering what king of miles you peeps were doing?

Yeah my bike is a toy for me too. i do around 20000 in my car. I would have done more on my bike I think but I have been mostly working away from home since I've been riding Sad .

If the 4000 is the average, there must be a rake of folk doing like 1-2000 a year. Not that there is anything wrong with that , it's just that I thought I wasn't doing much with 4000

Ride all year round to work and back, outing and other such crap. I'd say at the moment i'm cracking just over 10'000mile a yearor just under.
Hence moving to a DR350 engine and not a 2 stroke 125.

Did about 9000 on my bike last year plus who knows what in the car... now I've got me 200 miles a week commute before I do anything else so I'll be racking them up a bit faster now.

My car miles are about 12000 a year, bike miles.. maybe 1200 now. Hence bike being very cheap, and car... well i'd like an expensive one.

Hi

Over 10000 I think, but not sure. Do around 250 a week just commuting (so 12000 a year), probably 80% of which is on a bike.

Overall between all the bikes probably getting on for 15000 a year.

All the best

Keith

Until 2001 I was averaging 80,000 miles a year on the bike and about 15,000 in the car, now it is down to about 20,000 a year on the bike and 12,000 in the car.

I do about 3000 miles a year, would be more if I commuted more than 3 miles a day.

Its going to be higher this year though, done about 1000km in 3 weeks.

I'm probably between 5-7k a year, mostly commuting. Might not be as much this year with the nipper on the way.

Bloke that had the bike before me had only done 1300 miles in nearly two years! I've done a 1000 in about 6 days of riding so far, but that will calm down when the new bike excitement wears off again!

My total mileometer is bust so I'm not really sure.

I only have a short commute so I reckon just over 3000.

havn't done too many miles recently though due to annoying electrics.

looks like this is confirming my suspicions that 4000 miles a year is bit of a low average. Confused Well on this forum at least.

Done 3000 on my NSR last year. That was all just riding for the fun of it, I don't commute on it. Did 12,000 in my car the year before that though. Put down 3000 on the insurance again for my next years worth on the gixxer.

Well my (roughly) 15000 miles over the past year has been shared between 9 bikes. So that is an average of about 1700 miles each (in reality ones has only been to the MOT station and back twice, and several others have done under 200 miles).

All the best
