Just took a look at my rear tyre today, and woo! I think I have done too many burnouts and stuff!

I havent done too bad, the tyre is just comming upto a year old, so not to bad.

I have an 010 on the front and been thinking of putting an 012ss on the rear, would this be ok?

Thay would be OK as far as the profile of the tyre goes, but I can't understand why you'd want a stickier tyre on the rear than on the front. A lot of people run an 010 front with an 020 rear, and that is good because it saves wear on the rear tyre (rear being a harder compound).

However if you fit a supersoft rear, then it won't give you any handling benefit (its better to have a grippier front as this does a lot of the work) and the tyre will wear out quicker.

I would say either fit the 012SS's as a pair, or fit an 010.

What MarJay said. I have a harder rear tyre than the front and it works fine. Also if you mix tyres from the same manufacturer you should be ok.

Though I found it interesting that in the 1st GP race most of the top riders were using a harder compound front tyre than their rear.

Probably because they slide the rear wheel when cornering, and need that extra bit of grip that you don't need for road use.

Only reason I say that is that the front has no ware! it still has like some of the li'l things on the very edges!!

proberly go for 012 norm rear then when the front goes go for an 012 then.
