So, took my mod 2 yesterday, and passed! Woo!

Was pretty tired as only got back from holiday at 2am Tuesday morning and then went to see Coldplay at the Ricoh on Tuesday evening, anyway it went pretty well. Got 7 minors, mostly for hesitation as I was really taking my time after my failure a few weeks ago, and a couple more for poor road positioning when turning into a different road.

So, as they say good news comes in 3's, got engaged on holiday, got a call on Tuesday saying that i got the job I had an interview for before holiday. So it was only right that I pass my mod 2 as well hehe.

So I may as well get some advice while I'm here, I got the A2 restricted license as I can't afford a new bike and figured I'll be on my little CG for a while yet. If I can't get a carshare for this new job then I face a 54 mile round trip on my bike, also I do want to get rid of the CG before it hits 10,000 miles as im pretty sure I can sell it for what I paid for it.

So, question is what bike would be best for the commute? get something 500cc or less, or get any bike and restrict it, any ideas?

Nice one, 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

500 and restrict it. Any of the 500 twins, a Divvy 600, CBF600, SV650S, Fazer, Hornet, etc etc. They're more stable and composed than smaller bikes, take it from me.

Congratulations on all three achievements! Agree - ditch the 125 and get yourself a restricted big bike - you'll do the 54 mile commute no probs then!

I do a 54 mile round trip in the car and on the bigger bikes.

I really would hate to do it on a 125.

Congrats Thumbs Up

yes, nice one Dance! Clapping Get anything you want now, your license. Would suggest something around 600 cc so not too big and unmanageable or fuel guzzling if you've got regular long commuting. Enjoy whatever you get Thumbs Up

Unsure now whether to sell my bike private to get more cash, and then cycle to work in the meantime till i get a new bike.
Or part ex my bike for less so I can get a new bike straight away.

One thing with restrictor kits, seen these on ebay £40 and fit it yourself, anyone ever got one of these and fitted it, how difficult would it be to fit?

Easy peasy! I removed a set from my Bandit yesterday. Good opportunity to give the surrounding area a bit of a clean too.
