Yup, that's the offence.

Maybe. Does riding a 125 on a provisional with an undersized, damaged or missing L plate void your insurance? How about if you're out on DAS training and all legal except that your qualified DAS instructor isn't in "possession" of his DAS training certificate at the time, which is a condition of validating your entitlement? Is your insurance voided? You're a criminal? If not, why not?
I'd draw your attention to RTA 1988 151 (3) and (8).
Morally, you're in the clear, since no 3rd party is going to lose out and you're accepting all the risk. Legally... well, maybe, but do Learners get prosecuted for "no insurance" whenever an L plate blows off?
Puma, in practical terms, I'd suggest taking an assortment of bolts along see if you can get one to fit the throttle stop. All the better if it looks a bit fancy and "non tamperish".
Will it properly restrict the bike without the ECU change? Dunno, but it's something you can point to in a confident, chipper manner on the tiny chance that it becomes an issue. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I will admit to getting bored after I sold the ZZR and got the TRX around July time. Restriction is up this coming March. Not been arrested yet...but I also have never been pulled over by the police due to not riding like a knob (often ). ____________________ Riding: BMW R1150RT `02 bought mildly crashed
Fixing: Also the BMW as I get less broken bits

I'd guess yes, as you would again be riding otherwise than in accordance with your license.
Undersized/damaged probably depends on anyone's judgement, but missing makes it so much easier.

Did not know about this one. See below for the rest of my reply.

No perhaps they don't get prosecuted automatically or at the first chance the police may get.
And yes, morally you're in the clear. But insurers come and ruin it for everyone. An insurer will look for anything they can to get out of paying up in case of an accident. If you do something to give them this get-out clause (learner with no l-plates, restricted license on unrestricted bike, etc), you are just running the risk of having your insurance voided when you have an accident and someone makes a claim.
If it is a risk one wants to take, that's perfectly fine, so long as he/she recognises the risk. ____________________ First bike: CBF125, Feb. - Oct. 2012

DAMN! just got a message from seller to say they've decided to keep the bike afterall and not sell... like, 20 minutes before I was about to set off having managed to get out of work an hour early too.
Bit miffed cos I'd really set my heart on the bike(just something about it that drew me to it), and I started getting excited that I could be riding back tonight on a big bike.
Oh well...keep looking eh. ____________________ YBR125 (SOLD) - CBR250R(SOLD) - CBR650F(SOLD) Current - Street Triple

It is a throttle stop and plug in to the ecu, handles restriction well.
takes 10mins to fit, standard size Torx screw for the throttle stop, plug remaps the fueling to match the throttle stop, pulls fine up to about 90 indicated then its a bit slower up to the ton. If your still looking at getting an ER6 below is what you need, fits from 2006 to 2011.
