Hi, wonder if anyone can help, ive had the jets changed in my carb when i got an open air filter last year, now i got an aftermarket exhaust and have been playing with the carb.

My problem now is at slow speeds between maybe 4 & 6k revs is very lumpy and is missing. Now im assuming this is running lean now, so for those revs at that throttle position do i just screw out the mixture screw?

The miss disappears after 6k and it hits power band at 8k and pulls hard up to the redline, would this indicate that its running well for main jet and needle? or is there a way to tell if its rich or lean at these revs. it feels smooth anyway.

Cheers for any help

yep he is right. its about the only thing you can do for now to see how its running. to do this, you need to have the engine under load (so i have learned) and keep it at the constant throttle you are wishing to measure the mixture of, then without moving the throttle, hit the kill switch after about 1 minute (im guessing) of constant throttle. Take the plug/s out and look at the colour. if black, too rich. if white/light brown, too lean.
hope this helps Thumbs Up
