Danger retard question coming:

How does having more holes in the disc make the brakes better rather than worse?

Air pressure or something?
Surely it's got a smaller surface area by having gaps in it, if it wanted a massive surface area to creat emore friction to stop then the disc should be nobbly and branchy like er, capillaries

right?

i *think* the holes are to reduce the friction and heat caused by braking.

Would buy the more expensive one. I don't really fancy relying on chinese recycled biscuit tin lids to stop my bike. (I could be wrong about the origins of the cheaper one, but it looks to be chinese).

"vented disc"(helps cool the disc quicker) to exclude brake fade when they get hot as with brake fade you would have no brakes Laughing
