GS500 rattles after 11,000mi service

I just got my GS500ex services for its 11,000 service, and having got it back, it sounds kind of rattley. Would I be right in assuming that the drive chain is the most likely cause of this?

It makes the most noise when slowing down, using compression braking. It makes no noise when not in gear/clutch in when stopped.

How hard is it to tighten a chain? and is it something that is easy to do yourself?

If you took it to a shop and its come back wrong just take it back to them.
