petrol resistant lacquer for white paint?

any ideas? most state "do not use with white paint" but considering the number of white tanks around theres gotta be something readily available that doesnt cost an arm, leg and kidney?

Not sure about the white paint bit, but the 'petrol proof' laquer from Halfords is NOT... petrol resistant at best.
Petrol-Proof laquer from my local motor-factors was better... but not much.
After small disaster with 'The Pup' when I left the tank propped up while we adjusted the tappets....
Come the DT, I had long conversation with man in my local panel-shop.
His expert opinion; "Celulose is shit" which is basically 99% of anything in a rattle-can.
But he's been saying that ten years and trying to flog me a compressor kit I dont have a home to put it in.
In the end, and for an exhorbitant sum, £14.40, he came up with, I think it was a 150ml can of 'Two-Pak' in aerosol.
'Granade-Pin' rattle can, and good for ONE spray. You pull a grenade pin out of the bottom to release the activation agent into the laquer, then have to shake it like buggery for five minutes before spraying.
GOES ON THICK by the way, and STAYS thick, so watch for runs; there's no solvent in it to evaporate off ane make it go tacky like celulose....
And you have to do everything you want done in 'one' shot. BEcouse by the time anything you have sprayed is 'cured' and ready for another coat... so's whats still in the tin cured!
However, got tank, side panels & mudguards on teh DT ALL done with one small tin, so does go a long way.
And it IS petrol proof!
Or at least the couple of sloppy jerry can fills I did before fucking bike was nicked!
