Alright chaps,

After a bit of advice please, I'm looking at making early plans for next year's TT. I'd planned to go to this years but a few naff events scuppered that one.

When's best to start planning or booking things? Literally straight after this one or?

Any other advice or experiences welcome.
(Btw if its relevant i'd be looking to go in a van - bike in the back and camp).

Cheers

The time to start planning a TT trip next year is NOW. All of the prime sailing times on the ferries will be booked within the next week or two. Reserve your sailing times with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co here:

https://www.steam-packet.com/Home-OnIslandViewers

You will be asked for a deposit on the fare with the balance payable next March/April time.

If you intend to watch any of the racing from the Grandstand then you need to book tickets for that early as well. Grandstand tickets are available now for TT2013 at Duke Video here:

https://www.dukevideo.com/Isle-of-Man-TT/TT-2013-Grandstand-Tickets.aspx

The most important thing to book is the ferry, accommodation and other things can be booked over the next 6 months or so but the ferries *WILL* be booked solid within the next couple of weeks.

TT2013 Dates:

Practice Week
Sat 25th May - Fri 31st May 2013

Race Week
Sat 01st Jun - Fr1 07th Jun 2013

You can work out the dates for the TT in any year as 'Mad Sunday' is *ALWAYS* the first Sunday in June.

Sorted and booked Very Happy. Gobsmacked how much is booked up already though, I've had to compromise quite a bit on when I can travel. I've ended up getting there late saturday night the 1st and coming back on the 7th early doors. If i wanted to stay for the last race I'd have to wait until the 11th to get back.

Those are not good dates for the racing, you will arrive too late for the Superbike race and leave too early for the Senior TT. By TT fortnight next year many of the people who have booked a year in advance will have a change in their circumstances. Illness, redundancy, new job etc and will be unable to travel on the dates they have booked. Check back with the Steam Packet Co around March and you just might be able to change your sailing times for something closer to your preferred dates. Also keep an eye on the forum on iomtt.com as people often advertise for date swaps on there.
