I'm after a new bike and at a trip to the local bike shop (Robspeed) I saw this.
https://www.robspeed.com/acatalog/info_20001853.html
And am just wondering what you lot think of it. I'm really wanting a SV but the bloke in the shop who i was talking to said it is exactly the same as a SV but its Hyosung.
I'm really quite confused so BCF please help me.
I want to know what they are like in terms of Reliability, Parts availability, and just the other general stuff.
Cheers

I've got a gt250 and its great.
things to upgrade as soon as you get it is only really the brake pads.
on my last service I got braided lines and ebc pads put in and it made a world of difference.
and also get yourself an exhaust as the stock ones are ugly imo, I recently put a MTC straight through can on mine and it sounds brilliant.
Also the suspension is really not bad at all I haven't ridden that many bikes but it certainly holds itself through the corners.
My bike has now done 10,000kms commuting through london every day and has just been to spain and back without any major problems apart from a snapped clutch cable.
have a look at korider.com many helpfull people with hyo's
cheers,

It's not the same as a SV, SV's are motorcycles Hyo's are not...
In answer to your questions They are not reliable, parts are available by expensive, and all in all they are shit.
If it's a used 07 then you won't get 2 year warranty, If you want a SV get a SV if you want to walk get a Hyosung... |

Stigger, you even realise hyosung build engines for Suzuki? And that they both share the same engine?
I would personally go for an SV. |

if it's £3k i wouldn't bother. £4k for a brand new SV on 0% offer if it's still on with your 2 year warranty, 1 year breakdown etc . . .
But if you go with an SV you'll need to fork out about £300 on top for some what i'd call necessary upgrades to the front springs, hugger, front fender and R+G's but the good thing about the SV is if you don't like anything lots of GSXR stuff fits it. Hyosung might be good but the SV is a package which can be bought and upgraded through time if the upgrades haven't already been done. Some Curvy models are going around pretty cheap at the minute with low mileage. forums.sv650.org for more info. ____________________ Past - CG125 ,KR1S, SV650s, Street Triple R - Current - Duke 390

i have a 2007 gt650r and i have had a good experiance with it, its a budget bike but then its my first big bike, ive upgraded the lines with hel performace lines and im using armstrong HH racing pads, and it has massively improved the brakes ive also installed crash bungs, db screen , scorpion titanium exhaust and the bike really does feel better and look better , ive had it at the track and the bike really surprised me and the lads on there inline 4's when the 3 of us that were there on hyo's took them on the bends, granted we lost out on the straights but on the bends we excelled, i would definately buy another and i hope they bring out a 1000cc model or even 1200cc ____________________ HYOSUNG GT650R, SCORPION TITANIUM CAN, REAR HUGGER, 14 TOOTH FRONT SPROCKET, HEL PERFORMANCE LINES, CRASH BUNGS, DB SCREEN, SINGLE SEAT COWL |

yes i have, but unlike your experiance i had mine reparied within 2 weeks under warrenty and have not had another problem since with 5k miles on the new engine, as i said ive had a good experiance with my bike, unlike you who have obviously had a bad experiance with yours, its an old model which to be fair was plagued with problems but you now have it back on the road, you take chances when you buy a machine, your luck wasnt good when you bought yours, but it happens with machines 1 defective part can have adverse effects on the whole machine causing other problems, get over it and move on, you make it quite clear on this forum and korider that you dislike hyosung, if so get another bike and stop moaning, all bike manufacturers have their problems be if the top 4 , or others, they learn by their mistakes and improve the models as time goes on, hopefully hyosung have learnt by theirs as the new models arnt having the same problems as the older ones, i.e dropped valves etc so they are obviously getting better

I came across this the other day
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkqDzeCVkX0
Ok its for a ninja 250R and the GT250, but they do say the GT250`s build qaulity is very very poor. |

Don't forget resale value, if you buy over priced cheap crap, you've got to find another mug who'll buy it. ____________________ TheShaggyDA: I've got 3 or 4 pairs that predate my wife, so at least 11.5 years old. |
