hi,

iv done a year on my sv and had great fun on it, iv always been obcessed by bikes rain or shine, unfortunatly iv become bored of the sv,

i love the love because its so cheap to run good on fuel insurance ext but riding day in day out 7 days a week for the past year in snow rain cold and the nice week of sun we had not long ago iv become bored maybe its just the bike or biking in general, but its the only thing that keeps me sane so i must always have a bike.

i bought the sv standard in mint condition fully faired but its no sports bike so i removed the front fairing and fitted the upright bars and an enduro light. which made the bike alot more fun to ride and to suit my riding style.

now iv had a look at other bikes and like the look of the zx600 g1 and zx636 a1p but whats the main differenc ein these too machines other than 30 odd cc .

Damn, that took a while, get checked for AIDs quick.

Wink

That aside, the 636 "seems" the superior choice, but I'm unsure of the differences myself.

636's are great bikes, the A1P is the first iteration and a bike I have only just sold, that carried the older shape from the J series 600's giving it great comfort for long journeys, the 600 and 636 from 2001 and 2002 respectively were night and day different in power though, despite only being 36cc's different. I found the 636 a great, capable bike for a few years.

2003 saw the B1H model, taking a more focused stance, much more cramped and racey, not so great for bigger riders so for most general riding or commuting, the A1P was probably better

The G models came much before, similar to the J series but with a single headlight, different fairings and IMO ugly. Technology improves a little each year on most bikes and the Zx6R was no different, the G series was vastly inferior to the A1P.

The main thing I found was the jump in insurance premiums from both my J series bikes to the A1P 636, it nearly doubled for a lot of companies, in a garage it was not so bad though.

Get an A1P Smile You'll love it

cheers bunglehaze as i am only a small lad dont kno wmy height but weighing in at a massive 9st wet through a cramped bike is no problem to me. i do lots of miles on my bikes even if its raining and i have a car il stil take the bike im just hard like that you see.

i think that era of bikes is what i consider to be the best looking in all manufacturers with large silencers in the correct place not like all these new bikes that are tbh fugly as fcuk.

i have ridded a friend triumph tt600 and that wa sin a right state but it felt so much more stable and planted than the sv and the brake on svs are just well not very confidence inspiring at all.

if i did get a 636 a1p what would i likely see to the gallon? and if i did make i purchase it would have to be in the classic green.

No idea on fuel economy TBH, I am 18st so I tended to wring its neck everywhere, that said I did a 1500 mile tour of france with pillion and full luggage, panniers, top box and tank bag too, and still managed to get 135 miles out of a tank without conking out, that was due to the fuel station being empty at my scheduled mileage. Until I got to the empty fuel station I was gunning it through the French countryside.

Green bikes go fastest too, out of the 5 kwacks I have had, 3 have been green and they were the best 3 Smile
