Hi,

I know this has been covered before, but not for a while.

Currently I have a bog standard Diablo up front (130/70-16) and a Diablo Rosso on the rear.

I like diablos - but what else is available? I'm pissing off round europe for potentially 3000 miles, and I don't want them to be wankered when I'm hooning round the alps.

Anyone used a Diablo up front with a Diablo strada on the rear?

Or any other options?

Bridgestone do the BT016 for the front, that's what I've got, its the only tyre they do in that size though.

The tyre's brilliant! I have no problem with it and it's just as good in the wet, considering it is a more 'sporty' tyre, and being on the front, it doesnt wear out in the same way as if that tyre was on the back.

Mike

EDIT: I've got a 021 on the back Smile.

Hmm, aside from the 010, I've not tried a Bridgestone that I like.

Didn't like 020's, 021's or 014's.

They're all a bit wooden really.

I've got BT016s, the front is confidence inspiring, the rear... Not so much. The Pros are much better apparently, do they come I'm 16"?

I'm currently using a Diablo Rosso corsa on the front with a Dunlop Qualifier on the rear, and it feels pretty good...

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

016s really suited my early Blade. If I still had it I would have got the new Bridgestone S20's which are apparently better.

im sure when i was looking up hornets as a 1st bike i came across a few people mention putting a 17" fornt wheel on as there alot more tyre options and it gives better handling.

I think people read too much into this, better tyre choice, undoubtedly, but there's nothing wrong with the way it handles with a 16" front. Maybe it gets a bit flighty at speed, but its not the limiting factor in riding fast, that'd be the suspension and lack of wind protection.

Plus it would cost me lots of monies, as I'd need new discs to suit.

Hmm, S20's, they ain't cheap!

The 2000 models onwards came with 17" fronts as standard Thumbs Up

Wonder if I'm missing out then... :/, only ever had Bridgestone.
I'm too nervous to try anything else incase it ends up a complete Epifail.

I'm such a maverick... I have Avons on mine. Seem to have good feel wet and dry, and are lasting well too, so can recommend.

I had Diablo Corsas on my old Hornet, cheap as fook (£145/pair) and more than enough stickiness for it.
