Guys,

I'm looking to buy a new helmet.
If it makes a difference, I have a Kawasaki ER5.

Average journeys - around North/ Central London - to/ from work, nothing major, not really the chance to speed etc.

Must be able to connect to phone for music/ calls/ navigation - preferably not via bluetooth although whatever is best really.
Full face preferred but also looking at flip face (I wear glasses).

I need to try it on so a supplier in North/ Central London would be good.

Cheers.

I would go bluetooth route as it is by far the best going.

You can keep your phone well out of any wet weather, have no cables to worry about.

What helmet?

Lot of manufacturers make kits for their helmets, failing that a Scala Rider or similar is a good bet.

Well, that's my question - Are there any helmets that have inbuilt connection/ sound kit to my phone that you would possibly recommend?

Scala Rider looks good but as I need a new helmet I'm looking to get something already set up.

Cheers.

AGV do one for the S4-SV and the Stealth SV. Pretty much doubles the cost of the lid though, although they aren't super expensive in the first place.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

One way if you want to connect phone via the 3.5mm earphone socket is by using in helmet headphones.

For example there's these for £10 from play.com...

or these from amazon.co.uk for £20 (look similar)...

and if you do a google or search eBay there may be others.

For the phone I suggest putting in a waterproof bag/case. The ones designed for MP3 player would be best as they cater for the lead. e.g. iSwim (do a google, other prices and cases may be available - first I came across)

I think this would meet the requirement to connect your phone to your helmet. Does not enable you to handle calls. For that you really do need bluetooth or invest in an expensive hardwired system like Autocom. So if handling calls isn't a priority the above is a quick, flexible and relatively cheap solution.

Personally I don't like making/receiving calls on the bike. I can see how others may need this though.

HTH Thumbs Up

I have a nolan 103 that has it built in as do quite a few of their range. Previous one was a Viper 1-2-1 which had bluetooth.
Many other manufactures do as well.

Best bet get to a shop and try some helmets on.

You need a helmet to fit, then look at the options.
