I'm looking for a 400, i have been looking at CBR's,VFR's,RVF's and ZXR's etc but they all seem to be rather expensive. I have seen a Yamaha FZR400 EXUP it looks ok, not as nice as the others but still ok. Has anybody ever had one or got any views on this bike.

Never ridden one myself, but there were some fast ones running in the BEMSEE supersport 400 a few years ago.
I had a ZXR400. Went, handled and stopped very well Thumbs Up

Hi there.

I owned a FZR400RRSP exup. Well i think that was its full title.
Loved the bike to bits handled really well and more then enough power in it. If I had the chance to get my old one back I would.

only problem i had with mine was the clutch kept slipping when doing a quick start.

I rode on on saturday.

It had more midrange than Gooses CBR400, and it handled really well.

I hear they have weak clutches and they suffer the usual Yamaha issues. I hear they aren't as out right powerful as other 400's, but I reckon they look good too!

HTH Thumbs Up

My mate has one the exact same as the one in the pic but with a few extras like a race can, braided hoses and better (fancier lol) front lights and the only problem hes had so far is it not starting from cold, something to do with the shims.

Typical Yamaha clutch, but the engine can be fixed by lobbing in an FZR600 lump I think.

All the best

Goose's CBR isn't exactly running perfectly... especially in the mid range where there seems to be some fueling problems.
