Peugeot Speedfight 2 Problem

When I pull away on my moped it needs a lot of gas before it starts to move, any ideas on how to decrease this time ? and also, when i am travelling at 35mph, this bikes engine starts to slow down and then after 5 seconds pick back up again and does 50mph? HELP!

Also, any idea what weight rollers a 55plate peugeot speedight 2 WRC takes?

if all else is correct these bikes do take alot of throttle to pull away. but some simple checks/servicing of the central clutch and belt would help. as for roller weight standard i would guess is around 7 grams how ever they do go upto 22+ grams and on top of that there is clutch spring weight. so in a nut schell i would say a good service is in order. if you are near broadstairs kent give me a call on 01843 866609 for a quote. i will also collect with in a reasonable distance.

what should i be looking for when checking the clutch and would replacing the variator rollers help?

By the sounds of it id say look at getting some new rollers or your drive belt might be slipping???

when replacing the variator rollers, do they all need to be a uniform weight, as i have heard that the weights are mixed aka "mix's"?

it difficult to explain the set set up due to the complications. and tools needed to do the job. its not something a home diy should tackle unless they are skilled.

in most cases the clutch (located on the rear axel) would stick in the closed position not allowing them to span out and make contact with the outer drum. as for rollers they should be a matched set and do ware not allowing the cvt to operate with clean movement. the belt also wares on its sides makeing it narrower not allowing it to ride up to maximum ratio. if you are in any doubt on how to complete the job with sucsess have a pro like my self do the job.

I am fully aware of the tools needed to remove the variator rollers and have already removed them many times before. how to i check the clutch is not sticking and what do you mean by servicing it?

Not to sure about he rollers, but when you take you crank case off put your bike on the centre stand and keep going slightly up in the revs then you should be able to see or hear if anything is slipping

the clutch is centrifugal and is housed in the rear axel you will need to remove the outer drum to get access. what you are looking for is smoothe movement in and out of the clutch shoes. and of course the thickness and condition of the clutch mateing surface it self. as there is no lubrication corrosion is a problem as so is seizure of the clutch system. so its a case of stipe down, clean, lubricate and replace parts as needed.
