The timing needs doing on it and getting silly offers, have got a haynes manual and have tried to do it myself but to no luck.

Laughing It would be better to sell his bike and buy a bus pass.

Its old, past it, gone, paper weight.

FORGET THE CB and buy something newer and closer or you'll spend more time in the workshop.

Thank you for the help, however not after a project. Hoped it is just the picture putting the forks down however as it seems they are bent checked online and getting quotes of £100 to get new ones.

Seems like I should be looking into others unfortunately.

As above forks are definitely bent, I made a paint diagram but I should of read further down the thread Rolling Eyes

Other possible issues are is that it appears the exhaust is quite rusty which is probably why there is only a picture of one side.

The center stand doesn't seem to be lifting the bike up either, although that could be linked to the bent forks.

With general signs of rust around the bike I would expect the frame to be similar but it is expected on a bike this age/price and shouldn't put you off assuming the bike is mechanically sound. Also make sure you remove the inspection cap or if possible remove the chain guard as you can't see the condition of the chain/sprockets.

I am local (in Bolton) however my CG is off the road after having a crash recently Sad

Another member did offer to help me out with the bike (transporting) If I had it but with the defects I've chosen to go looking for others. One which another member has on here and keen on this one although it is overpriced.

That's not really overpriced.

i had a 1993 which was in quite bad condition that i paid £400 for.

I'd buy that, offering £500 to see if they'd counter-offer.

Edit: also, looking at the guy's youtube vids, he seems to be quite clued up with mechanics. vids of changing head gaskets etc. so guessing it's prbably been taken care of

Yeah your most probably right, was only thinking over priced because you can get a newer cg for roughly same price. However will take a shot on it. Thanks dunk Wink

Well just for an update.... Had an offer from the seller of £600 delivered tomorrow on this bike and to contact the seller tonight If I want to accept.
https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330746384072#ht_500wt_1202

Now I haven't personally seen the bike running, so this would be going on the seller and what he has said, could do with some opinions on this.
