Since last year I’ve been looking around without joy, for a project bike with a bit of bite for the track and maybe for the road if I can actually manage to ride it.
Although I was only looking at 600-750's, I just couldn’t turn down this when I saw it. Picked it up today took the fairings off as I had a quite a bit of travelling to get it home.

It’s a bit rough round the edges but i love the GSXR 1000's this is a k2, 03 reg. Mr. Green
Can’t wait to strip it down tomorrow.

Any one got any history with this bike; I have quite a few questions on fairings.

I'd LOVE to ride that bike as it is (sans fairing). Twisted Evil

(I have a project ambition to strip and prepare a streetfightered litre bike) Thumbs Up

Don't tell me you're going to stick a fairing on it ffs.

This is exactly the type of gsxr 1000 I want. It'll be so much more fun than the faired version, even easier to wheelie and the lack of fairing will keep the speed down. How much did you pay? I was watching another one last week on eBay but his reserve was £2500. Sad

P.S I have had 2 x K1's and 1 x K2 GSXR-1000. What do you want to know?

you'll all hate me when you hear the price. Twisted Evil

managed to pick it up for £1500 from a private sales site (not Ebay).

as for my intrest in the fairings. ive heard that alot of the range is interchangeable. what fairings will fit on my bike? specifically the nose cone and the mesh that holds the front fairings/speedo in place?
and i cant seem to find any good GXSR fourm? (that isnt all american)

the gui i bought this off wa trying to fighter it as you can see from the raisers and renthals.

it was Pistonheads.com i think its quite well known. im tempted to keep it sans fairings Twisted Evil , but is gonna be a Track hack this summer hopefully so some race fairings will have to be applied for stability. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Well been a while so ill fill you all in Smile
had to re do the front forks a few times. to get them right. there was pritty much not a single thing on the whole thing on the whole bike that had been fitted right. so it had to be striped right down again and re torqued. i aint rideing a 1000 without knowing its right.
then the wireing loom had been cut in a few places for no apparent reasons. so sorted that out. bought fairings --> (i know it aint every ones idea of a good use of it,) but its my first big bike and to be honest, i really love stripping it down a building it back up. Smile
so bought a track nose cone and decided to fit a standard light into it.!!!! BAD IDEA !!! well i can safely say. dont try this at home. lol what a ball ache. getting the light to fit flush and snug and square in a nose cone with no datem was fun for a week. lol so cut hole and mounted it square then built the edges back up . then re-inforced with fiberglass behind. then skimmed the front wet and dry primer. some more wet and dry (1200) then a couple of layers of black and a top coast f the shiney stuff Smile
well if you read all that then you deserve to see all the photos. much more done over the last 3 months but i let you work the rest out.

If you can wait and want to invest a few hundred £, I would recommend

Buying something like this.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/03-04-for-Suzuki-GSXR-1000-K3-K4-fairing-Kit-ABS-Plastic-Free-Windshield-14-/270934966573?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3f14fb812d#ht_3862wt_1125

Putting it on then flogging the bike. You will get loads more for it. Maybe be sneaky and buy it using someone elses ebay account, then sell it on yours so people can't see you it has chinky fairings. Wink

the way I see it you get £1400 for it as is or £2400 for it after Spending £300 on a fairing kit. Depending on the mileage/condition of everything I'll take it for £1400 and do it myself.
