Hi

I have a Honda CG 125 05 plate (no Kick-start) It sat for a while over winter there and as a result the battery died. I have just changed it out for a new battery, followed the instructions, charged it up and now the dial lights and headlight all come on.

However the neutral gear light is not lighting up, its definately in neutral!, and when i push the electric start there is no sound coming from the starter. Could it be the fuses? if so how do i check and where would i get a new one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Col.

The bike will not start if the bike is not in neutral which is why there is not even a click from the starter solenoid. Try holding the clutch in when pressing the starter as this should bypass the neutral switch.

If it starts then it is the switch at fault which could be something as simple as the wiring next to the front sprocket come loose, a break in the wire or a faulty switch.

Out of curiousity I've just tried this on my '55' plate model. Will not start unless gear is in neutral. Pulling in the clutch lever made no difference if that helps.
