Simply's build your own system is brilliant. You can get a decent rig for good money.

Your be much better off, either building one yourself or getting someone to build it for you......then again i guess it depends what you want it for?

Gaming....or video editing your need a high performance rig, anything else and you could make quite a cheap one.

I was going to build a pc myself, but in the end I bought one (brand new) from ebay. I got it for £430, the price to build it myself? £600 Confused

I've just started an ICT Practitioner's course at college, two nights a week. Not sure how long the course is but it'll be worth it at the end.
I'm doing that so I can eventually be able to build my own computers and If people need anything looked at, I'll be able to do so.
So far I've stripped down an old PC and put that back together and it worked fine, soon be working on newer PC's with newer bits 'n' bobs but really a lot of its all the same.

Anyway, for buying one or buying parts all I know of is Ebay or a local computing shop. Or If you know anyone who could do it for you at a cheaper price.

pc i built myself recently, pics a bit dark and doesn't show the colours very well but it glows mostly blue, with some red and green, with a black motherboard and neon ide cables Smile lanparty is the motherboard manufacturer, very good motherboard. I should take another pic really, this one aint too hot Smile

You should try and build yourself a pc, it isn't hard although as someone previously said, it's getting more expensive to build your own now as some shops try and be competitive, plus they can get their components at trade price anyway, and usually offer some extras, and a warranty

I'd be happy to build you a monster if you want. It'll be nice to get away from building server and network units. Gets a little boring after a while when you can't put some fun into a PC.

Hey dude! I built my own PC. It's an AMD 3.2, Asus flagship motherboard Very Happy (Well worth the money), 512 DDR RAM, Geforce FX5900, numerous amounts of fans Very Happy, and a fan controller all mounted in a black modded case (side window). There are other bits but I won’t go into all that, lol. It cost me around 300 for the essential parts: Processor, motherboard, RAM, Graphics Card, Case and the other bits I have built up over the past year. Ill have to take a picture to show u guys!

By the way try www.overclockers.co.uk they do some real good stuff for building PC's and customising them!

Let me know how you get on mate! Very Happy

Scan are good as you can custom build your PC but get them to build it.
Personally i built my own:
AMD Barton 2500, gig of ram, 128mb ATI 9600 pro, Slot loading DVD, CD burner, floppy drive and more ports than you can shake a stick at...all in such a nice little case. Very Happy

Very neat Milo!

Thanks! These days there's no sacrifice in small form factor machines unless you've got a need for overclocking, more than 2 CD rom drives or need to put more than one PCI card in there.
Next up is buying these speakers I've had my eye on for months!

Cool! I see you are going for the ultra modern look with slim line speakers! Not to mention the amount of space they probably save!! It’s going to look good!!! Very Happy

But

I did notice this:

Availability: usually dispatched within 1 to 2 weeks Shocked

1 to 2 weeks!! Nooo!!!! Very Happy
I would be real fidgety waiting for them to arrive, lol!

Nice speakers though! Well worth the wait I think!
You will have to post some more pictures up when you have them set up dude!
