I've used quik steel in the past, trouble is you may have a 2mm hole you can see, but the rot you can't see could be considerable inside

What bike, how old?

A hole in the tank usually means rust and if there's a hole then it's bound to be thinned in other places. You can patch it, or seal it with that rubberised lining you pour into the tank, but if it's a rust hole you're best off sourcing a replacement.
