What is the box where the two pipes meet (3)is it a muffler or a cat converter ...its of an 89 250cc.. if I were to remove this and have some custom pipework done would it be louder Cool or dont bother I just cant justify spending heaps on an after market system..
Cheers

I really don't think its a cat at all but I could be wrong.

From the pic it looks like a bros so it is just a collector box which you could do away with but it may mean rejetting.

Hi

At that age I would very much doubt it is a catalytic converter. Almost certainly just a collector box. You could replace it with some pipework, but make sure the guy making it knows what they are doing as it would be quite easy to screw up with the lengths and loose power.

All the best

Keith
