Just noticed it. Its on the clutch lever housing, it just pulls out like its not even secure. Once pulled out the long bit in the middle pushes down. Doesnt seem to do anything when i push it down with the bike on though. Any ideas?
Also how is it supposed to stay on the lever housing, as it literally just slides out with no effort:

As above; it's a 'sensor' to check if the clutch is pulled it.
It may be set so the bike will stall if the side stand is down in gear when the clutch is out, but let the bike run with the clutch in.
Some bikes require the clutch to be pulled in to start.

It looks like that square bit should engage with the hole in the bottom-side of the well (looks like it was in rotated ass-backwards originally).

Had one on the Bandit that used to play up due the clutch lever snagging on heated grips.

If you trust yourself enough to always return the side stand (or if you remove it) you could just remove the connector and either solder the two wires together to make a permanent circuit or fit a push to make switch or something (a second kill switch of sorts).

Thats if it does cause issues, but if it isn't broke don't fix it.
