Hi all,

I've bought a small magnetic tank bag and it's got strap which clips around bar(s),

What exactly do I wrap it around, is it the whole lot (all the cables and everything), or just the middle post thing? (new rider, don't know proper terms for the bits on a bike).

Cheers all.

It's just in case the bag falls off, I tie it around the yoke loosely. Ive use the same tank bag for years and the only time that strap has come into use was when filling up with petrol, i leave it hanging from the strap then putting it back on the tank.

Is the "yoke" the middle post, or the flat section at the top that sits on the two forks and the middle post?

That. I religiously clipped my bag around the yoke and strapped it under the tank for a while, then eventually realised that it's just not going to move a millimetre with the magnets stuck on the tank.

Now I just stick it on with the magnets and don't bother with the straps, although as Bubbs says, it is handy to just hang it off the side of the tank while you're filling up. Although it's just as easy to pop it on your seat or wherever while you're nozzling, then slap it back on the tank again.

tl;dr version: just stick it on the tank, don't bother about the straps.

Personally I always used the screen brace for mine, rather than the yokes.

As others have commented, I've never had a problem with the magnets lifting, despite always definitely being inclined towards the 'sports' side of 'sports touring'.

Is it just me or is that Ducati's front suspension setting wildly out of whack? How would that affect handling?
